February 24, 2021

Fibre is a carbohydrate which passes through the gut without being digested. It plays an important role in our health.

Health Benefits of fibre:
• Help you to feel full
• Help to maintain weight
• Keep you regular
• Lower your cholesterol
• Control your blood sugar

Types of fibre:
Soluble fibre dissolves in water, turning into a thick gel. It can slow down nutrients digestion. It combines with fat and passes through the body to lower blood cholesterol level and control blood sugar levels.
Insoluble fibre does not dissolve in water. It holds water like a sponge; it expands and becomes soft. It keeps your bowel regular and helps to prevent constipation.

We need both types of fibre to get the health benefits!

Simple way to upgrade your dish: Mix up different fibre sources!
